When a tax credit this year meant I got more back than had been witheld, I promised I would not say anything bad about Barack Obama for at least a week.
As part of a law passed late last year, the Bush-era tax cuts for the richest Americans were extended for two years. The estimated cost to the government of that portion of the tax deal, $42 billion this fiscal year, exceeds the stated $38 billion value of the savings from the federal budget cuts lawmakers approved last week.
Two additional companies are missing from this list: Verizon and FedEx.
FEDEX: FedEx spent $8.7 million in campaign contributions and $71 million in lobbying expenditures from 2001 to 2010. It paid a .0005 percent effective tax rate recently, actually spending 42 times as much on lobbying Congress as it did paying taxes. To do this it utilizes 21 tax havens.
VERIZON: Verizon spent $12 million in campaign contributions and $131 million in lobbying expenditures over the past decade. It paid absolutely nothing in federal corporate income taxes over the past two years and $488 million in government contracts in 2008; in 2010, it made $12 billion in profits.
This is to let you know that today I started a cartoon series (If I do 2, it's a series, right?) with the lead character known as CHIMPY. Hope there's not another Chimpy around.

Ain't it grand?
Anyone know the quote from Dog Day Afternoon about kissing as it seems apropos right now.
MoveOn is staging a bunch of Tax Day rallies across the country today. They're calling it Tax Day: Make Them Pay.
I hope there's a huge turnout.

Tricia---Are you saying he did something right?
The debt chart - yeah, ain't that a kick.

Susan---Apropos several times over.
Tom---Not even one mention of it here in our local rag.
Punch---We have reverted back to, "free, white and over a mil per annum"
Chimp---And this is what we know about.
YD G---That club is getting bigger, methinks.
Let's EAT THE RICH!!!
Chimp---There are not enough spices on the planet to make that palatable.

By the way, barbecue sauce goes well with "rich" food.
If Bernie Sanders is a Socialist, then so am I.
