S.T.O.A.

"I am not a good American...I prefer to form my own opinions" - George Carlin

From my youth, a duo billed as "Bob & Ray". A brilliant pair of comedians all but forgotten, except by the older farts union. I posted this particular routine a few years ago when I first started my blog. A friend and I were talking about these two recently and it occurred to me that if our current batch of so-called representatives would adopt this method of communication, things might just get better. For sure, nothing could get worse.

For some reason I can't find the one I posted from Youtube back then, and this is the only video I could find. I have to link you to it...there is no embed code associated with it. Also, the sound is very low, I had to jack everything up to 100%. It is worth the effort, though.

Love Bob and Ray. thanks for the laugh. I love the weatherman routine with the squiggly lines, et al.

Doug---No kidding...excruciating, but damned funny. I love the one's total impatience with it.

walking man---Except to hear their own voices, that is.

Mr. C---Glad you liked it. They were dead-pan brilliant, I thought. I can't think of a routine of theirs that I don't like.

i remember these guys... ha! i guess that makes me a member of the old farts club. proudly so.
this was a nice remember when. and your comment on communication is right on.

I've heard of those guys for decades, but never heard much of their stuff. One of them -- Bob, I think -- had a role in an obscure Kurt Vonnegut movie, "Between Time and Timbuktu."

I love those dudes..isn't one of them the dad to that goofy comedian chris..used to be on the letterman show..played peter the goofy brother of amy on everyone loves raymond..???

jadedj said...

Harlequin---It does, indeed. Thank you.

Tom---That is very possible. From what I understand, they did quite a few of Vonnegut's work. In fact, I think he was a writer for their T.V. show at one time.

YD G---I had to look it up, but you are right...Bob Elliot's son.

Want me to 'filch' it for ya? I can do that, then upload it to my Divshare acct and give you the embed code.

I hate when people wont share. Thats just plain selfish.

D,H m v B---Lay it on me!

I agree, especially when they don't own it.

Doing it now..will give you the embed code when completed.

There was an embed code!

Dusty---Damned thing is hiding from me. I checked back and I still can't find it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I've only had one cup of Joe thus far today. Where the deuce is it?

Unknown said...

I emailed you the code..its at the bottom of the vid..right hand corner.

jadedj said...

Dusty---Duh to me! Thanks.

jadedj said...

Dusty---For some obscure reason the embed doesn't work. No biggy, though. Thanks for trying.

Sorry, after the first 5 seconds I walked out. Did he ever finish talking?

Just watched more Bob and Ray on You Tube and it brought back many 'wonnerful' old fart memories.

Chimp---You walked out? YOU...WALKED...OUT? I'm not saying.
