It ain't that complicated, folks.

"I am not a good American...I prefer to form my own opinions" - George Carlin

"Now is the time for all good men/women to come to the aid

of their party country".

I simply do not understand how anyone could stand by,

throw up their hands and do nothing but watch as this train

gets derailed.

If you think there's no difference between the two parties,

then ask youself this...

why are the Kochhucksters dumping millions and millions

of dollars into REPUBLICAN candidate's coffers?

Get out there and vote on Tuesday, Godamnit!

I'll be there just as I have every single time for the past 44 years.

I'll be there as a poll watcher for the democrats, my (KS) republican controlled state has suspended 21,000 voters, many have not been told they are suspended, they will learn it at the poll. I will try to get them to take the time to do a "provisional ballot", and then get to the court house and straighten it out within the 4 day window, otherwise the ballot is trashed. The percent who take the time to fix it, tiny tiny tiny. All this because of the rampant voter fraud, which in fact was only 10 cases in the last decade and only 2 or 3 convicted. 2 of which were republicans voting twice. 21,000 will be turned away in a big state with a small population.

I only vote now days to allow myself guilt free bitching after the election. As long as the two parties continue their strangle hold on our system, it is not going to get better.

wm---It never crossed my mind that you wouldn't be there.

yellow fringe---This is the kin of shit that boils my blood and re-enforces why we can't let the Republicans get control of Congress, IMO.

MRMacrum---One thing for certain...it damn sure isn't going to get better if the bat shit crazy elephants get total control of the government. Corporate control is already here and a social program bloodbath is at our doorsteps.

Vote, if for no other reason than that the Republicans are trying to prevent you from doing it.

Professor---Damn good point...and here it is the day after they apparently succeeded.

I only vote when it's a presidential election. Plus, it looked like it might rain so I stayed home that day. Also there was something good on TV that I didn't want to miss. How'd the election go? Who won?

I tend to be among the people complaining there's very little difference between the parties on the federal level.

But I have a feeling that, come January, I'm going to be pretending I never say that.

Mr. Charleston said...

I did and it didn't seem to make much difference. I still raise my voice (that's about all I can get up these days) but may as well howl at the moon. Come to think of it, that's not such a bad idea.

It's going to be very interesting, Jaded, what the future brings; not necessarily the future in January, rather the future in 8-10 yrs.

The US electorate are dropping off the partisan ranks in droves, declaring themselves independent of partisan lines.

More than 42% of the electorate now identify as "independent." This is not the "Independent," or "Independence" parties, rather those who refuse to swear allegiance to and adhere to partisan lines of parties such as GOP, Dem, Libertarian, etc.

This group has little to no voice in the election process in most states.

The majority (42% independent,36% Dem and 25% GOP), the independents hold a huge amount of power, they just haven't congealed that power yet.

When they do find that unity, there will be hell to pay in partisan America.

When are you gonna start blogging again - I miss the humor, man.

Katy, Mr. C and Boomer B---Please forgive my neglectful ways of not responding to your always welcome comments...in a timely manner. The only pitiful excuse I can offer is that I have gotten out of my blogger routine the last few months.

As to the now moot election...what can I say...once it's fucked...it can't be un-fucked.

Boomer Bob---Thanks for the undeserved ego boost. I started this blog eleven years ago and for the last few months I've initiated a post on several occasions, but just can't seem to finish and post them. The words don't come together as they used to. It's just as bad when I make comments on other's blogs. I'll keep trying though.

Meanwhile, I am working on un-fucking recent political events...in my mind, that is.

Unfucking these elections require one of two things - 1) relocation to Australia or Canada. However, both nations have closed their borders to the riffraff coming from the US; they have private militias composed of ex-cons and lunatics with guns ready to shoot US citizens on sight, or 2) ample supplies of Oban with which to curl up for the next four years.

I'm opting for number 2 - it tastes much better than lead and my wife says; "no way in hell, at our age, are we moving to Australia or Canada. It's too damned cold in Canada and there are too many nasty spiders and snakes in Australia."

I wasn't too surprised by the cold in Canada, but snakes and spiders in Australia?

Aren't they the ones who we're trying to get away from here??

I get the "blog slog" once in awhile too. My cure for that is ample volumes of Oban (that's the international cure for everything :-)

Hi jadedj! Just FYI, I addressed your "Ask Me Anything" question over at my blog today.
