Ha! I love Jesus jokes! That is pure gold, it's going-to-hell-gold, but pure gold all the same. And to pick up on what Mr. Condescending said, wasn't that picture depressing enough, already? I like your style.
Depressing until the painting was cleaned a few years back, and we could see how cheerily they all were dressed. Quite a festive occasion, methinks...with death on the horizon and all.
How about pope jokes...almost as good. Like, oh, "what initials are on the toes of the pope's slippers?" TGIF...Toes Go In First. Shit like that.
I thought the TGIF joke was a blond joke! Did you read the DaVinci code? I will never look at that painting the same way again, ever. I love stuff that pokes fun at and holes in the religion.
miss amy---that's a nice thought...me too, but I don't think I could have participated in the washing of the feet thing...well, maybe with a little wine...who knows.
If you haven't already, you MUST read "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal." 'Nuf said.
Here at the intelli household we make it a point to find Jesus every day. Really. We took the figurine from the King Cake and intellikid and I hide it from each other. So funny to hear i-kid's (an avowed atheist) when she shouts "I found Jesus!"
intell---believe this: I actually went to our local library to check that one out...not to be found, and...they won't order it. What they don't know is, they have copies of, The Master and Margarita, which was one of Moore's inspirations for LTGAB. I'll never understand the conservative brain.
There's always B & N...however, I keep forgetting about it when there.

I did not get the email.
Punch---it was because you had too much on your plate. So, you're out of the loop.
If nobody else showed up, he could have had dinner with your mama. Oh, wait. You said to keep your mama out of it. Sorry. He, he. Hugs.
X---my mama gave him the bottle.
He could have used the small table near the kitchen and let those Roman officers have the big one.
Doug---it was Friday and the Romans hate fish. They skipped this one.
We'd have gotten a much less interesting painting that the one we ended up with. AND no De Vinci code :-)
Lou---Har, Har, har. Good one.
lol that was funny, it does actually look pretty depressing.
Mr---I agree...alone X 3.

Fancy---aha, a fellow fairy tale lover.

Fancy---Blond Pope.
Read it. Saw it. Liked both. Still confussed, though, due to my density...and I don't mean my girth...which is another sore point subject.
I would have went, if only to swill wine with Jesus.

You never know where he'll turn up.
