A case for not hyphenating last names

No comment from moi. This speaks for itself. I did alter the originals...just in case one of these is...you. See what a nice guy I am.

And finally...some good advice?

This addendum is the result of Punch's comment. I should have thought of this in the first place.

LOL at Beaver-Wetter. Maybe you should not have hidden their faces.

Shrinky---Good point.

mo---One of my favorites also. And unfortunately here in the states people are sue crazy. Just covering my arse with the faceless thing. Too bad because a couple of the newly weds were pretty love-goofy looking.

Life can be very cruel sometimes.

It’s also interesting to see how (particularly in the US, with its large proportion of non-English immigrants) names have come from one language, but mean something else in English, either by spelling or phonetically. I imagine that ‘Wetter’ (German for ‘weather’; pronounced ‘Vetter’) is such an example. Given the number of nations and languages there are, it must be hard to avoid having a name that isn’t comical or outrageous to someone.

Awesome. Beaver-Wetter was my fave. Thank God someone had the sense to not reverse the order of the names. It's unfortunate enough as it is.
lol
Thanks for sharing!

Simon---Simon, long time no see! Good points. Another example, which is a real place, is Fuck, Germany. For the life of me I cannot find a translation to English. Perhaps you can help. My German is too weak.

Glad you stopped by.

Jen Jen---Har har har, Wetter-Beaver...even better.

The Peters-Rising honeymoon must have been a rockin' good time.

If the photos and announcements were posted before, I don't see how you can be sued.

Are you saying you have the original clippings, dude? :-)

Play all the Beatles vids you want to, I'm a fan.

Hey JJ... saw these things on Leno a while back and he didn't cover their faces. How does the song go... paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep... you better stop, hey, what's that sound, everybody look what's going down.

Sorry, got carried away.

I saw one for Drilling- Cousin!

Tom----Had you seen Peters, you migh retract that statement.

Doug---I wasn't really serious...more of a joke. I thought it would be amusing to block their faces., and then in answer to mo. stoneskin's statement, I "elaborated" a bit on the reason. This was originally an email from my wife on a slow day, so you know how that goes...probably at least 10 million people have seen it via email.

Mr. C---See my comment on Doug's comment. You need to BE carried away dude.

Stephen---All in the family, eh?

funny... very funny; wacker daily was my personal favourite; and woe to the children, indeed.

Harlequin---Good one for sure. One that isn't here, I saw years ago...stuck in my mind:
Wanhung - Lowe.
