Going, going...gone!

"I am not a good American...I prefer to form my own opinions" - George Carlin

I picked up on this News Update at Chimp's Planet today.

It seems one of Marilyn Monroe's dresses which was on auction, went for 4.6 Million Dollars, on Saturday. This one:

If a mere dress went for that much money, can you imagine what a pair of panties would go for? My dream is shattered, as I had hopes of one day owning a pair.

C'est la vie, mon cherie.

What a laugh. Everybody knows you have a whole drawer full of panties. Right next to the panty hose.

Mr. C (as in Carlotta)---Do not judge others based on thy own proclivities.

One of these days Facebook will catch up with you just like it did with Wiener. Careful JJ, careful.

thinking about you in panties is less ... objectionable ... than thinking about how all that money could have been better spent. sigh.

In that photo shoot she was wearing two pairs of flesh colored panties which made her appear to be commando.
Question, which pair would bring the highest bid, inner or outer panty??

Mr. C---Being an old fashion coot, I prefer the word of mouth method. No Facebook needed.

Punch---Who? Mr. C?

YD G---Holy shit, indeed.

DSWS---Be careful, Mr. C and Punch get overly excited about things like this...you know, the ol' high blood pressure thingy. I would hate to think this blog was the cause of their demise. The burden would be too much to bear...or not.

Harlequin---I'm with you.

Kulkuri---Depends. Are they washed, or unwashed?

Come on now, what would a Real American do? Now you get right out there and pull yourself up by your bootstraps, work hard, invest, save -- and someday you'll be able to afford that pair of panties.

I have a feeling you would not look good in MM's panties, so why waste the millions, JJ.

Used panties reminds me of a skit either on SNL or 'that was the week that was' were a woman was demonstrating a detergent and would say "wash, wash. Rinse, rinse. (Smell) Mmmmm." When she got to washing the panties, "Wash, wash, Rinse rinse, (smell) then, "wash, wash, rinse, rinse" (smell) and then, "wash, wash, rinse....""

Tom---You're right of course...and I know it's what Jesus would want me to do.

Chimp---Well you see, this is where Weiner went wrong...it's all in the presentation.

SNL, as I recall.

Everyone beat me to it... I was going to offer to help you purchase your very own panties. You have a fast crowd of followers, man!

Personally, I don't want any of her panties until we clear up that seven-year-itch thing.

jadedj said...

Squatlo---Fast, in so many ways.

Murr B---Hahahahahahahahaha! Good one.

How much am I bid for Betty White's soiled diapers? Unlimited supply!

jadedj said...

Chimp---There is not enough money in China to get me to participate in that.

I'm back.

Punch---You're beck? Oh...back. Glad to have you beck, er...back, bro.

SUZY8-TRACK said...

I want to know who's buying this dress for that kind of money??

jadedj said...

Suzy8---Someone with more money than brains, IMO. Unless of course they intend to donate it to a costume museum of some sort.

SUZY8-TRACK said...

Its just a dress! Granted its from a famous scene in a movie where her husband, Joe DiMaggio, was present during filming. He gets angry over the scene and soon thereafter they separate. I get that its part of Hollywood legend....but still its just a dress!

jadedj said...

Yep, I agree. Hardly worth that much money, intrinsically. But, not everyone agrees with the two of us. It is an invented and inflated worth by those who value such things.

You do know I am making fun of the whole idea, and I don't really want the panties, right?
