I had a surprise birthday party and no one showed up. given by 2 sisters..one was to get the cake one was to send out invites...she forgot..I was very hurt at first then when they found the invites over the visor in her car...that was a little better.
Been there, done that. My senior year of high school, I invited all of my friends over for a NYE party. My mom and I went and picked up a bunch of pizzas and soda and snacks. About 45 minutes before everyone was due to arrive, my "best" friend called to say that one of the guys who was supposed to be coming decided to have his own party, so everyone was going there, instead. "I guess it would probably be okay if you wanted to come, too."
hey, jadedj.... just catching up after a couple of sick months....nice to see the edifying and uplifting prose and images here, as usual. it was a treat, really. good to see you at your pithy best. :)

Oh dear. Dining alone? The waiter should at least have offered him a newspaper or something.
JACKIESUE---That brought a tear to my eye...seriously.
D S W S---The Resurrection News?
I have all my parties at the Toucan. People show up there and I don't have to invite anybody...
That's a shame, with all that food and wine -- enough for a party of 13 -- just going to waste.
Doug---Exactly what I would do. What's the Toucan?
Tom---No problem, just turn the wine back to water and un-divide the bread.
The original picture should have been labeled The First Gay Bar.
the Ol'Buzzard
Ol'B---Wouldn't work...there wasn't one lawyer among them.
My guess would be is people finally figured out I am not as friendly as they thought.

w m---The upside...more hor devores for you.
Mandazoid---Wow...that has got to be the saddest party story I've ever heard. What an asshole. I hope you didn't go.
Anyone who needs company in order to party has something missing in his life. Some of my best evenings weren't cluttered up with others...
squatlo---Absolutely...the real plus is not much to clean up the next day and nothing gets out of hand, as it were ;)
And it came to pass that he finally out drank all of them.
Mr. C---Which was a bit one-sided as he had unlimited access to jugs of water.
haha, that Mr. C .... and you! the last party, indeed! :)
Bella---Mr. C was referring to himself, methinks.
Oh my God, he looks so sad! Cheer up, Jesus!
Professor C---Verily...or one of those olde English words (King James era).
Well; at least you wouldn't have to fake enjoying the party ;-)
boomer b---Hey, long time no see! That's the purpose of the vino maybe?

:)
Harlequin---I hope those bad months are now a thing of the past for you.
There is no question that I often pith people off...without even trying. I am glad that you found some redeeming something in this tomfoolery ;)
